Dr. Bushman is excited to be back in the area! As a result of his travel he speaks Spanishfluently and enjoys any chance to get to use his second language.
Following his mission, he attended Brigham Young University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2012. Next he obtained his dental education from University of Washington (2012-2016) and is proud to have been a part of the RIDE program (Regional Initiatives in Dental Education), which encourages dentists to practice outside of the larger metropolitan areas. Being in the RIDE program allowed him to gain additional experience through a six month clinical rotation Northwest of Spokane.
Now a resident of Pendleton, Oregon, Dr. Bushman will be seeing patients in both the Pendleton and Walla Walla offices of Alder Family Dental.
Dr. Bushman chose dentistry as a career because it provided him the opportunity to get to know patients individually and form lasting relationships. It brings him great satisfaction to see the confidence and happiness that comes to patients upon improving their smile. Growing up in Southern California, I never knew what I was missing until I moved to Walla Walla to attend Walla Walla University. After graduating with a B.S. in Health Science in 2004, I headed off to Loma Linda University to complete my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2005. After my first year of dental school, I married my husband Korey, who currently works at Dayton General Hospital as a Physical Therapist.
In 2009, with DDS in hand, we decided to go back to where we met and liked to live and work. Each year I fall in love all over again with the Blue Mountains, wildlife, wheat fields, sunrises, sunsets, crisp fall days, the smell of lilacs in the spring and the color of dogwoods.
When I’m not educating patients on the importance of oral health or treating dental disease, I can be found downhill skiing in the winter, walking with my family, building forts, playing doctor, acting silly and otherwise chasing after my little munchkins, Gianna(3 ½) and Nikolas(1 ½). We also have two wonderful dogs Murphy, a 9 year old yellow lab and Griffin, a 1 year old Wire-haired Pointing Griffon.
I’m a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association and Walla Walla Valley Dental Society. Each year I take courses to expand our services, stay up to date on the latest oral health recommendations, learn about new materials and create lasting results, all while treating you with the care and comfort you deserve. We treat you like we would treat our own I’ve been working for Alder Family Dental with Dr. Sharkey and Dr. McEntire in Walla Walla since October 2015 and I’m excited to be transitioning and providing excellent patient care in Dayton as well. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your family!
