Dr. Sharkey

Dr. Sharkey hails from Wallowa County, OR, where he grew up on a ranch and helped on the farm. After graduating high school, he went to Eastern Oregon State College (EOSC), in LaGrande, OR, for his undergraduate degree (1980-1983). While at EOSC, he met his wife, Lisa.

Dr. Kimberly Murdoch DDS grew up in Pasco, Wa. She fell in love with Walla Walla area when she spent 4 years at Walla Walla University. After Graduating in 1997 she moved to California to attend Loma Linda University and graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2001.

With her degree in hand, she moved to Spokane with her husband and son Aiden and opened a family dental practice. Six years later her daughter Zoey was born. To be closer to family, Dr. Murdoch sold her practice of 16 years and moved back to Walla Walla area.

Dr. Murdoch has a thirst for knowledge and has continued her education through many courses throughout the US. Some of those courses include Las Vegas Institute, focusing on cosmetic dentistry, implants, endodontics and occlusion. She has trained under Dr. Brian Allman for TMJ and Sleep apnea.

She is excited about the opportunity to join Alder Family Dental and be with her family more. We are pleased to bring such an experienced and talented dentist onto our team.

Dr. Rachel Deininger

Growing up in Southern California, I never knew what I was missing until I moved to Walla Walla to attend Walla Walla University. After graduating with a B.S. in Health Science in 2004, I headed off to Loma Linda University to complete my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2005. After my first year of dental school, I married my husband Korey, who currently works at Dayton General Hospital as a Physical Therapist.

In 2009, with DDS in hand, we decided to go back to where we met and liked to live and work. Each year I fall in love all over again with the Blue Mountains, wildlife, wheat fields, sunrises, sunsets, crisp fall days, the smell of lilacs in the spring and the color of dogwoods.

When I’m not educating patients on the importance of oral health or treating dental disease, I can be found downhill skiing in the winter, walking with my family, building forts, playing doctor, acting silly and otherwise chasing after my little munchkins, Gianna(3 ½) and Nikolas(1 ½). We also have two wonderful dogs Murphy, a 9 year old yellow lab and Griffin, a 1 year old Wire-haired Pointing Griffon.

I’m a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association and Walla Walla Valley Dental Society. Each year I take courses to expand our services, stay up to date on the latest oral health recommendations, learn about new materials and create lasting results, all while treating you with the care and comfort you deserve. We treat you like we would treat our own I’ve been working for Alder Family Dental with Dr. Sharkey and Dr. McEntire in Walla Walla since October 2015 and I’m excited to be transitioning and providing excellent patient care in Dayton as well. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your family!
